The STCA (Staffordshire Terrier Club of America) is the National breed club affiliated with the AKC. It was formed in 1936 with the purpose of breed improvement.
Besides breeder and owner education, American Staffordshire Terrier clubs rescue abandoned dogs and find new homes for them. Volunteers, most of whom are American Staffordshire Terrier owners, are usually involved in this sort of work. Rescue departments also welcome donations that will cover veterinary expenses.
